Xavius Raid Boss Strategy Guide

OJ here

So Xavius,

This fight is really complicated and there are a lot of moving parts. I have created a thread to get input on how we should tackle this fight.

I am going to list some guides and videos I have found on the web to help consolidate our information.

http://www.wowhead.com/guides/xavius-strategy This is the wowhead strategy guide for Xavius. This wowhead guide has some really good diagrams that show how we should position the raid in the different phases.

This guide also gives detailed explanations on what each raid role needs to do in the different phases. Please read thru the guide.

This next link is the Fatboss Video from beta testing.

Heres another video from patch day from a hunter perspective.

This is the newest Fatboss TV video for Xavius. This is pretty much how we are going to do this. Please watch this video before the raids. This is very important. We will be referencing this video when we do Xavius.

Please join in the discussion so that we can take down Xavius in the coming weeks. All input is valuable. I will update this main post to show our strategy.

Basically is simply comes down to positioning the Big adds right beside the boss, making sure the frontal cone is away from everyone. Therefore cleave damage pushes the phases faster, we should only have 2 big adds to deal with.

Everyone else basically stacks behind the boss/add moving as needed for the blades (the closer we are together the less anyone has to move out)

As for the lil adds once they spawn on everyone's feet, the non sleepers just bail out for a sec then get back in.

The meteor in phase 2 seems to be mostly a Non issue. The group just took it. If your personal corruption was too high you bailed yourself but it didn't seem to get outta hand.

P3 was just hero stack and nuke.

So basically the moral of the story for the pug was that everyone took a little extra corruption in order to pump some faster dps. That being said the healers/tanks still need to be on point with dispels and swaps. It was on normal so taking extra corruption on heroic might be a different story but i guess we will deal with that when we see it.

later guys,
